Weekly Photo Challenge: Change

Change is always happening, all around us and within us, every day.

Sometimes, we experience change in huge, dramatic ways – the sudden death of a loved one, the loss of a job, an illness or injury, a child moving away from home.

Other times, change approaches at the speed of growing grass.  Winter turns to spring, kids grow imperceptibly, paint begins to peel on a house.

Nothing is static, ever.  Moment by moment, changes big and small occur.

Because time never stands still.

I tend to resist change as much as possible – I think this not an uncommon action among us.  But if we contemplate the freezing of the hands of time and the submission of ourselves to stasis, what is there to do in this world?

Tic-tock, tic-tock, tic-tock, tic-tock….
