I bet you’ve been waiting with bated breath to hear about our little getaway to North Georgia!
Our last-minute trip was a great break. We didn’t get around to making s’mores, but there was a hot tub, some tubing and kayaking on the Oconee, a twenty-foot water slide and something Jon and I will refer to as the ‘human hamster wheel’.
That’s Hailey, inside a huge vinyl bubble, at a water park next to a Wal-Mart parking lot off of Georgia Highway 515. This park held more wonders than I have ever seen in one place. Forget Disney. If you find yourself anywhere south of the Mason-Dixion, head to Mini Huck’s (as in, Huckleberry) and prepare for a once-in-a-lifetime experience. They have the hamster balls, and then they have this:
Yeah, that’s a human powered swing. Why this park missed the chance to use a donkey for this work and bill itself as a water park/petting zoo, I’ll never know. Perhaps the donkey’s agent decided that doing this type of thing in the unshaded Georgia heat in the middle of summer was cruel and unusual. This girl should get that agent.
Not to be left out, I jumped onto a huge rubber-bouncer-pillow-thing and made some moves.
The kids made many, many trips down the HUGE water slide.
And let’s not forget the bucking cow train. Yeah, you heard me right. Unfortunately for you, I am too cheap to throw down for the video upgrade to this blog, and you will just have to imagine that one.
More to post, but I want to stop and catch my breath now that we’re back in the ATL.
